There have been many ideas floated about possible benefits of BB being bought out by a foreign competitor. Ideas about Samsung have been floated.

yes, any take over of the Blackberry size is subject to a review by the govt of Canada, one there will have to be a net benefit to Canada and then there will be a test on National security,
so any take over will have to pass those tests, and then you can pretty much rule out any company that is not located in Canada or the US.....simple enough...
Yup....I don't think many proponents of the takeover-by-Samsung model can make a case for it when taking this into full consideration.
I for one, being a Canadian, with a soft spot for BlackBerry, do NOT want to see a foreign takeover, but do wish to see licensing with other businesses to increase the brand and OS in the world.
I'm driving by Blackberry HQ right now. Definitely a sense of security that this is where the shots are called from. Would not feel as safe if it was from shanghai.
