I just made the jump from Palm to Blackberry and I love it. I transferred my Splash ID and D2G programs and they work great. I especially love BES.

One of the things I loved on the Palm was the search feature. It would search every document and all content and not only find the document, but open it to the location of the searched text.

My blackberry will only search a limited types of documents and will not search locate my search text within, let's say a memo. It will take me to the memo, but then I have to manually look through the memo till I find my text.

Enough complaining. Is there another searching program that is more robust and that can search documents stored on my SD card? I have looked everywhere and I have not found anything.

SearchMagic is a 3rd party search tool that I use. It cannot search documents on an SD card. It searches your calendar, tasks and contacts only. Its strength is that it can search for partial strings in fields, and can search all the fields in the contacts database. So it's great if you're trying to match a partial phone number, or a fragment of a pin#. Because it's a full-text search and doesn't use indexes, it's rather slow. Searching my 1013 contacts for a fragment of a pin# takes about two minutes. But I don't know any other app that will do it at all.

    Find it at Home: software-for-blackberry.com

It has a free trial, so you can try it risk-free to see if it helps you.

Thanks. I will try it. Do you or anyone else know of a search program that will search SD cards?
