MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS, BARCELONA, Feb. 24, 2014 – SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK), a global leader in flash storage solutions, today announced the new 128GB2 SanDisk Ultra microSDXC™ UHS-I memory card, the world’s largest capacity microSD card. Smaller than the size of a fingernail, the new SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card enables consumers to use their phones and tablets as if storage limitations were never a concern, allowing users to capture thousands of songs and photos, and hours of video on a single, removable card.

“SanDisk’s high-performance 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC memory card will reshape the way users interact with their devices,” said Stuart Robinson, director, Handset Component Technologies, Strategy Analytics. “Until now, consumers had to spread out their content between multiple products because the memory on those devices was not able to hold enough data in one place. This 128GB microSD card is going to be popular as the preferred removable storage option, giving users fast, secure and reliable access to their personal data archives.”

Probably $199.99 and may or may not work for BB10.

With the thinner die, I wonder what the reliability is. Would love to get my hands on one for testing.

While we're on the subject of SD cards.
Are the BB10 one's meant to be hot-swapable?
I totally messed one up a while back through pulling it out, so now if I have to get one into an SD adapter I power the phone off.

Man this is cool. I knew storage would always get larger (heh), but actually seeing that amount into such a small package is pretty incredible. Wonder how long it'll take for a 1TB to get this small.

So, does it work in phones that talk about a 64gb max?
I.e. Is the max a real limit, or just recognition that until now there's been nothing bigger?

WOW!! Just WOW!!! Just imagine if future BlackBerry devices allowed for apps to be stored on the SD card. All our apps, pics, music, movies, documents, etc., etc., would be right there on our 128gb micro SD card to quickly remove with our SIM card and insert into our other device and everything be right there and we'd be on our way like nothing!!

I'm excited for the future of BlackBerry and SanDisk.

Now if only there was a 32 GB or 64 GB BlackBerry device to go with it ...

I need this! Usually they are introducing new sizes with slow class 2 cards and this is already coming out with class 10-speeds. That's awesome.

I've been waiting for this for ages! It'll probably costs a truck load for a while though :l if we could get 1 tb ones in the future I'd put my entire DVD collection on my tablet and still have plenty of room for important files haha

Assuming 64GB on the BB10 devices is the "advertised" limit, it should handle 128GB fine. BBOS7.1 devices handled 64GB micro SD with no problem, and they were listed with a 32GB max.

On my Q10 I can't even really fill up my 32GB card. However it is nice to now they keep on increasing the capacity on these smallest cards, this way the rather expensive 64gig cards should see some price drops too.
I'd like to know whether current gen devices can handle the new 128gig cards without problems or not.

    Double-typed and posted with a BlackBerry Q10.

The "theoretical" limit on BB10 devices for flash memory is 2TB (yes, 2TB). Now if they put a limit in the OS I have no idea.
