just remember to place all 'deleted' files into a 'remove' folder instead of actually deleting them. Then, in case something goes weird you can put the file back into the Java directory on your PC!
EXACTLY___ DO NOT DELETE the files...then you have ZERO recourse, if something bad happens...God forbid...GL to all

I have just over 17M free. Regular BB install except for the Quincy stuff and PTT for AT&T.

What else can you remove without messing it up? What exactly does MediaLoader do?
Just follow the links in my signature!! Stoner's guide walks you thru everything

And the MediaLoader ones load all of the default pics and garbage!

These guys are great, went from 13 to 22+ in just a little bit just by doing some housekeeping and rearranging.

I went through the steps and removed most of what you listed in your guide. I actually use password keeper, memopad & ToDo. Some I never installed (Brick Breaker, Languages) or already removed (like PTT). Anyway, I ran AppLoader but it didn't remove anything. All the themes are still there, didn't remove VAD.

I'm running .46 using DM4.5. Did I forget to do something?

EDIT: nevermind. I had to choose something form the "list" to add/remove before it would let me choose next. Once I did that, it removed all the other stuff. I went from 17.5M to 20.6 after reboot. Not bad.

Like Jason, I do quite a bit of "surgical" optimizing. I've been running with at least 27mb free since 4.2.2.194.

I actually have 29mb free with .46 and all my apps loaded. I'm pretty pleased with it. For a little while with .44 I had 30mb.

I wish I had read this B4 I just started deleting apps to free up space. Had to waste a lot of time trying to find stuff after I accidently deleted a game I wanted once. GRR. Follow stoners guide. He makes it simple. Good luck.

What the heck are you removing that you have so much memory free???

I want to remove all the medialoader stuff but I use some of the notifier rings. Is there a way to just keep those?

Is the free memory like RAM where it speeds things up, or just clearing up hard drive space?
