Now Everyone is opening a new thread about the old rumours..
Z3 STJ100-1 ~10.3.1.2576 ~
I think you're going to see BlackBerry offer Android for consumers and BB10 for business/government customers.
I would not hesitate to get a Blackberry Android phone.

Only BB 10 Os for me! Thats for sure.
Spoken like a true BB soul! ;-)

BB10 for me. Not because I'm a BlackBerry fan but I find BB10 works far better for me. Android is dreadful and I don't care for it.
Wishing something to be so, or even making an educated guess, does not constitute a rumour. Yes, even if lots of people are guessing or hoping the same thing.
Please provide a link or explanation of how this is actually a rumour, or the thread has to go bye-bye.
What I like is the the developers that made bb10 os can work with and make android apps work good I what to see that in the future..

If...
The upcoming Android device with BB's label is a slider, it will get some attentions from droid users.
However, if the BB's Android device looks just like one another Z3 or the LEAP, Droid users will just likely to turn away and go for other makes in the market with competitive hardware specs. So... the only way to draw attention, will be the "exclusive" software/apps blending with BB's version of Android. Yeah... i'm talking about sideloading.
Make this BB's version of Android different from the others. How about BB's version of Android having the ability to sideload BB apps?
OP still hasn't even provided a link to backup the rumour he/she's created or started.

My friend that works at BBRY said that he noticed a prototype smartphone running two different OSes.
Now it's a rumor.
Strangely, while I'm ambivalent about the potential switch to Android (if they maintain a BB10 look/feel and the hub, I won't care a whole lot), my wife --- who has never seemed to have strong opinions about tech, is adamant that she will never buy an Android BB phone. She really hates Android.
My daughter can't wait until she can buy an iPhone, though. :) We have a divided house.
Having said that, I really love my Passport and will not switch to an Android BB just because it's there. If my Passport dies, then maybe.
From where did you get this, or is it your own rumor you decided to start?

That's how it's done around here these days.

I want my BB10 but if I have to fall back on something it would be Android and not iOS. So, if I do have to go Android, atleast I can get a Blackberry.
Hoping that they announce this at earnings tomorrow.
Because ... the Zlider's curved Sammy Edge-style glass?
;-)

What if ..... they (BlackBerry & samsung) created one phone and sell it as an BlackBerry on bb10 and as an samsung with android? Samsung provides the screen and BlackBerry the pkb / slider tech. It would sell because there is no android with a good pkb and there is no high specs bb10.
Posted via CB10
That my friend is genius. BlackBerry would get royalties for it's pkb. But in the long run it might hurt bb10 sales
Samsung is prohibited from making phones for BB as long as BB10 includes the Android Runtime, or until Samsung leaves the OHA (and the billions of dollars in annual profit they make from it).
Can't wait to see the headlines that BlackBerry phones can be rooted. People will think it will be all BlackBerry phones.
Yeah iOS 9 might be the most secure option if BlackBerry goes Android and Google Play services. I'm leaning towards Apple if BlackBerry goes Android. I think Apple is hardening things to tackle enterprise and government.

Nothing to stop Samsung building their version and BlackBerry making theirs. Buying parts from Samsung and having Wistron build it.
Posted via CB10
Or Samsung spin off a "subsidiary" to build them. Their are plenty of creative ways to game any system and contract. Or simply build unbranded hardware, send to it to BlackBerry to load the OR and brand it.

I was thinking more like what you see in cars. The chassis is a joint collaboration but the body is has a different design or look. Think of the new Miata / Alpha. I recall that Mazda, Ford and Volvo etc shared a chassis at one time.

Do you have the source for this rumor?
