BlackBerry 10: the end of uncapped BIS in SA?
Extract :
"Industry speculation suggests that BlackBerry 10 (BB10), which will be launched on 30 January 2013, will make use of a new network architecture which will require BlackBerry 10 subscribers to purchase standard data bundles similar to Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
According to BlackBerry news website Nerdberry, they received information shortly after BlackBerry World in May 2012 that BlackBerry 10 devices would no longer access the BlackBerry servers in the current manner.
It is rumoured that BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) will still make use of Research in Motion’s (RIM’s) BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS), but that other data services such as web surfing will run through a standard Internet APN (Access Point Name).
If this speculation is accurate, we may see bundled BlackBerry smartphone plans which include a data allocation (hence a standard data plan) and unlimited BIS for BBM."
PURE SPECULATION IMO....
