According to a Czech BlackBerry fan blog, two new BlackBerry devices will be introduced in 2016.

One is codenamed BlackBerry Hamburg, which will be a mid ranged full touch device. The Hamburg is estimated to cost around $ 400 and is expected to be introduced in Q3.

The second one is codenamed BlackBerry Rome and will be a more premium kind of device, which will be a sporting a physical keyboard as well as a touch screen. An estimated sales price has not been announced and the device is expected to be introduced in Q4.

According to the fan blog both devices will run Android 6 Marshmallow.

I'm desperately waiting for a new QWERTY device I sold my passport to buy a PRIV, but then saw the Vienna leak. I've been on the fence ever since rocking a Q10 like it's still 2013.

Any new device will be an Android OS as noted above. So don't get excited BB10 folks.

What about releasing an affordable QWERTY handset (can be running Android if they really must) for price-conscious PKB lovers and businesses?

Any word on specs? That's going to be what the Android market looks at. If estimated at 400 now I'm thinking it's USD, so hopefully it won't be 2013-2014 specs.

Well, BlackBerry is the one "trying" Android and not the other way around. Let's still hope for success either way though!

I heard that BlackBerry is pulling out of hardware business totally, including android devices and that's why Vienna wasn't launched during MWC16.

Hope that's a false news but one of the analyst's prediction could be right.

Analysts aren't always right. Like I've said before in other posts that BlackBerry won't quit the hardware division after just one device. That would be foolish of them to decide their future on just one device.

They could sell or license the security enhancements to for Android to Google or Samsung and then shut hardware production and sales. They would still have to support product that have sold however.

Clever Strategy BlackBerry bringing the QWERTY device at the end of the year. That's exactly the moment, when whatsapp drops the support for BlackBerry and all the die hards have to switch somewhere else (android!!)

I wonder how 'premium' the device with the keyboard will be because the Priv doesn't feel premium at all.

By the end of the year the PRIV is going to be close to a mid-range device. I really don't see the point of a mid-range all touch by then.

Think BlackBerry's market is PKB, they ought to do a enterprise entry level PKB device and a Flagship PKB device.

Because if there isn't a market for PKB devices.... there isn't any point in BlackBerry staying in the market.

Geez, I heard yesterday that BlackBerry laid off 90% of its HW employees and that they are getting out of HW altogether; ergo, NO new phones. Apparently, they decided they couldn't afford to keep spending 40% of their R&D budget on hardware, where they don't make money. No formal announcement yet. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Even if that's true, BB could be staying in the hardware business, but with "bespoke" hardware from white label manufacturers. Certainly a way to bring prices down.
