I thought I remember reading something about RIMM having the cost of apps getting charged directly to your mobile account. Meaning your monthly phone bill will have charges for apps, music, movies, etc.

If that is true, wouldn't it also be reasonable to think that Carriers will get a cut of those sales? That would make them a partner with RIMM. And in doing so, RIMM is giving CEOs from places like Rogers and Verizon a good reason to order sales people to push BB10.

Am I onto something here?

Why would they be a free collection service for RIM?

Yes, they'll get their cut. It will be a small % but a % none the less. The benefit is, that a lot of people don't have PayPal or credit cards... like younger folks or those who just haven't set themselves up. The benefit to RIM is a much larger number of apps sold. In the end, carriers, RIM, and devs, all benefit from this.
