Okay, so I just seen this:
The BBX platform, which was formerly known as QNX should do well, the BB Colts main features are expected to include a single-core 1.2GHz processor, just like the Bold 9900, apparently it will also feature a 900+ screen resolution like the PlayBook, 4.x″ touchscreen, Thinner than the Bold 9900 and the 9930, stainless steel bezel unibody, TAT transitions coupled in BBX, All swipe inner bezel, Similar battery as PlayBook, Front and back facing cameras, with enhanced flash and focus, it will have no physical buttons.
What do we think about this?

it wont be the same resolution as the PB, it will be the same aspect ratio.
Actually isn't there a post here where it says RIM was planning to keep the resolution at 1024x600 just like the Playbook with a smaller screen? Something with an Alec Saunders interview. I see no reason why they couldn't do this same resolution.
right i think some people misinterpreted what Alec had said. I think he meant the screen ratio would be the same for all the BBX devices (16x9) They could do a 1024x600 4 inch screen but have to wait and see. That would be at the very high end of all displays out there in pixel density and it would look very nice with the correct screen tech
1024x600 for a ~4" seems on par with the other high end phones. They are up to 720p (1280x720) on 4.3" screen right now.
The idea of having uniform resolutions to the platform is a good and bad idea. Easier for developers, but as WP is now realizing, they chose too small IMO. Similar with iOS. Curious to see what they do with the iPad 3.
With some careful planning, I'm sure RIM could have like 3 resolutions with their current form factors. Something for physical keyboards, 1024x600 and 1280x720 (or 1280x800) for maybe a PB 2 and future devices. Personally, I think it would be nice for phones to move more towards TV resolution standards. Maybe the Bold line with 480p and 720p for the high end. They already have 1024x600 so... Mid Level I guess. Of course that would have to change if they ever did a 10" tablet.

Ok. I like nice, big, screens too. But it seems like these things are getting so advanced that the primary focus is shifting from creating a communication device to making a multi-media player. Even to the detriment of the function of the device as a phone. And don't get me started on how much I think touchscreen texting sucks...

Other than the fact it is a dual core device, everything is speculation. Still pretty happy with my 9900. I'll start thinking about the 'colt' when/if they release specs and design.
1024x600 on a 4.1" screen gives a pixel density that is actually only a few points higher than the Bold 9900. On a screen that size it will look really nice.
by next year there will already have quad core phones out example the iphone 5 and htc edge ...rim need that kind off wow factor again and i think adding a quadcore chipset will do part of the trick also i would love to see 4g/LTE support
