Looks like the street has figured out what we already know.
i think the 15K ported apps in 36 hours might have something to do with this...
Something tells me it's going to be a very good week for RIM, and stock holders.
or pulled their head otu of their asses
I think it's RIM shorters covering their position before the launch.
They experts say it's due to carrier support.
"The*BlackBerry maker jumped close to 14% in trading during the day as confidence grew that the BB10 devices will be getting the all-important carrier support necessary for the new platform to take off. After Verizon (NYSE:VZ), AT&T (NYSE:T) and T-Mobile, it was Sprint’s turn to announce that it will be carrying the upcoming BB10 devices, "
RIM Bounces 14% On Optimism Ahead of BB10 Launch -- Trefis
I've never bought an individual stock before, but last week I decided to buy some shares of RIMM. So I opened an Etrade account, but it takes three days to transfer funds from my bank. So of course I'm watching the stock rise before I can buy it!
Never mind, I'm confident that it'll be a good investment even if I miss the bump of these last few days.
OUCH!
the stock owner should not be too concerned with erratic fluctuations in stock prices, since in the short term, the stock market behaves like a voting machine, but in the long term it acts like a weighing machine (i.e. its true value will in the long run be reflected in its stock price).
Same thing happened to me but not quite so much money.

from right now
I know what you mean: I bought at $13, and when it was at $7, I was going to sell internal organs to raise the cash to buy more... I tried to transfer a cash RSP account from ING to BMO (where my Investorline account is) and they said it would take 6 weeks so I didn't bother... maybe I should have bothered. Over 100% return in 4 months would have been sweet... ah, well.
could be, 15,000 apps were submitted, but how many do we think are approved..
Heading to 100.00 per share by year end before settling around 75.00 for the long-term. On January 30th the stock price should double to the value on January 29th. Thorsten is a god!
I'd love good early sales numbers to come out. That's what could drive RIMM to $100. But that is just hope. I think $30+ is easy though before early indications appear.
I'm just hoping that early numbers are VERY GOOD because that could push RIMM well over $100. I am hoping for $130+ by years end but it is admitadly hope. $130 would make me one rich SOB. I looked ovr my portfolio last night and that puts me into a path to early retirement. Not early retirment but at age 36, I will be in very good shape. Oh, and I will be going to Disney getting hte best room possible!
I opened an etrade account 2 weeks ago and bought some RIM shares last week. The way this stock is rising. I am figuring that it could be about $25 to $30 in another month or so.
Yeah, I wish I could afford buying any stock at the moment. I was interested in a few hundred shares!
Happy to see my investment going back up. Got 200 Shares at $7 and if you can afford a little up and down it's a keeper for sure. We're talking RIM, which is not just Blackberry, and people on the streets need to know that as well ! Think about QNX and the endless possibilities. I doubled my investment already ;-) Can't wait for BB10, just really hope RIM doesn't underestimate advertising this platform correctly.. Beside the techies in my circle no one has even heard of it here in Germany and the media basically keeps calling it a knockoff ******* baby of Apple and Android. Doing my best in showing off as much as I can and especially converting people through actually showing them the platform..even if it's just the simulator ;-(
15K in appWorld means approved ;)
going to be a $30 stock in two months! ....
It will need to be there for me to get back the money I lost when I bought at 27, plus interest lost.
