I just spoke with the CDMA RIM desk at Sprint. They advised that the RIM Servers are down nationwide for all carriers. She also advised that RIM has not been able to post any news of this to their sites. Sprint advised that it will be sometime tomorrow (10-19-2009) before the problem is corrected. just thought I would pass this on. I suspected a problem because none of my BBM would get past Sprint (check mark only with no D or R since noontime EDT)
I believe my girlfriend has sprint, and while she doesn't have a blackberry, maybe this explains why I've been receiving odd messages from her phone server.
I'm on Verizon and while my BBM and email are working, neither of my BB phones are showing status of anyone on my contact list. I noticed it last night on a friend's 8330 as well. Wierd.
This was not just a Sprint problem. I have Cellsouth and I couldn't use bbm or email anyone all day until about 4pm today. And it wasn't a carrier problem as a friend of mine who also uses CS was able to use all of her data. I guess it just hit only part of the bb owners as most of my bbm contacts had no problems except for trying to get in touch with me.
I am with Telus and I have had this problem now for 2 days... I thought it was just my phone so I reinstalled bbm and that didn't fix it.. as I now know that it's the RIM servers that are down.
geeez how long does it take to fixxx this???
No problems at all since this thread started for me on AT&T.
