RIM has more than quadrupled its workforce in the last four years to about 12,000 people and seen its profits and revenues soar as the company has expanded sales of its BlackBerry devices beyond the corporate world to the highly competitive consumer market.

    ...

RIM holds a 56 per cent share of the $12-billion American smartphone market, and is expected to see three-year average earnings-per-share growth of 84 per cent and revenue growth of 77 per cent. Fortune says this is largely on the strength of RIM's foray into the consumer market.

    ...

However, Fortune warns that RIM's competition is "getting increasingly stiff" and RIM will have to keep up with changing consumer demands.

    ...
That performance is particularly noteworthy when you consider how the economy has preformed during the past year.

Apple made the top 40, just.

I'm glad to be a part of that fast growing company as a consumer. They make great phones. How the heck can Apple make a phone that can't even multi-task?!?!? Hahahaha

a note to all the posters who flame the BB OS, or some of the newer models: obviously, they're doing something right. Nice work RIM.

off topic but i just found out that Android also have the same app memory problem that blackberries have. You cant even run apps from SD cards. They dont even have a today screen. So after knowing that fact that i dont see how anybody thinks Rim OS is that far behind from Iphone and Android and seeing how Rim is quickly rising in the market that its proves that functionality>>>looks.

Good for RIM. But couldn't care less. Benefits me in no way.

If they were to go into the tank I'd have another phone. ::shrug::
