RIM CEO Thorsten Heins commented on the company’s future, saying that they were considering options such as selling off their hardware production branch and licensing out their software, but noted that discussion of final decisions was premature as RIM is interested in seeing how the BlackBerry 10 OS and the Z10 handset fare on the market.

Every company facing this make it or break it says this to ease tension. It's old news, but your thread title is very deceiving.

People need to stop breaking each interview down by every sentence and creating a rumour thread for each them.

This clearly twists words with the title and content.

It is a thinly veiled attempt to make anyone taking a quick glance believe that RIM is interested in selling itself right now.

RIM will not be sold in 2013. There's no way with the amount of effort they've put into BB10.

To all the people who said RIM would be dead or sold before BlackBerry 10 makes it to market...suck it.

This is what I keep saying, then you get false information like this spread around by @blackberrywatch.

"Lenovo plans to buy BlackBerry-maker RIM https://t.co/EAqwxT6y -- Blackberry Watch (@BlackberryWatch)"

They never said they "plan to buy RIM. "

I heard Thorsten Heins was going to sell his used underwear on eBay.... oh, and was considering a sale of the hardware manufacturing arm of RIM.

I think both are just rumours though.
