The company was named RIM the devices were BlackBerry. Now it's BlackBerry for both, I think they can call it JAM or Peanut Butter, it's irrelevant, they need to focus on Marketing and universal release of updates. Speaking for my company and myself either name is fine, the focus should be on improving the perception.

I would choose RIM as the company is no longer just about devices, but QNX in-car systems, Enterprise offerings etc.

RIM gets my vote. There's more to the company than the BlackBerry devices.

Both are the same, but I think that if Blackberry is looking for a way to rebrand their device name they still can change it to RIM, but their should be a massive update to the BlackBerry 10 OS to attract consumers

It's a shame the poll is closed as CrackBerry just featured this thread as a News article an hour ago!

Good or bad, changing the name to Blackberry was made during their time of over reactive, panic based decisions to look good at the expense of being good. Fortunately Chen is a mature, stable leader whose name and actions are rebuilding market value and trust.

I like Research In Motion. NOT RIM. BlackBerry is good. But Research In Motion has more "flair". Sounds more cutting edge (yeah I know the irony -- whatever).

RIM is the company who operates many business under that name such as hardware and software as examples. BlackBerry is the name of the product. Look at Apple as the company and iPhone as the product. If BlackBerry gets out of the hardware business the what?? Call it CrackBerry??? Lol

Blackberry (RIM) offers more services than just their devices. Google and apple both have successful mobile operating systems and many phones to accompany them, as well as other products and services, they don't name their companies android and apple do they? They define themselves as much more than the devices they pump out, whereas blackberry has confined themselves to a simple identity making blackberries
