When the sun comes up there are sure to be a few new BB owners/users.
I think it would be great if all the veteran users/non-newbies would
log on for a half hour to 45 minutes to check in on some of the threads and
lend a hand where possible.
I know Christmas is important family time, but let's not let down the CB family.
Merry Christmas all. And best wishes for the New Year.

if i could add one more request, as ag stated, these people will be NEW to blackberrys. we are a great place to learn, and just quoting "use the search button, or google it" may not be all that much help. i'm not saying that we need to kiss **** or anything, but maybe get in the spirit of the holiday and lend an extra hand?
Rocki, I'm right with you. especially on the stuffing ones face part

Cobra, you are far too modest. And I just saw your edit. Agreed, a one day
moratorium on "search" "google" and such. Lets show the new users exactly
why we are the best BB forum on the net.

I'm sure there will be quite a few new Pearl users this year since Verizon is practically giving them away. Ive got nothing better to do tomorrow so I should be online all day helping out all the new addicts. Happy holidays everyone!
Im one of the newbies...Got my curve a week ago and Im on crackberry about 3 hours every evening. Im reallying enjoying my bb but must admit sometimes Im long because I dont under the lingo....So maybe you pros can help me understand a few things.
OTA = Over the air...I obviously know the abbreviation but not clue what it does.
Streamlining = Not a clue on this one.
Applications = know what they are but no idea how to get them and use them
SD card = my daughter bought me one but not a clue what to do with it.
I appreciate any help...At this point would just love to read the posts and understand what everyone was talking about....

Not a veteran unless nearly 4 months with my Curve constitutes veteran status. But... You really think they'll find us that fast? LOL... But here we are -- the few, the proud, the addicted.

OTA means you can download applications directly from the internet and onto your phone without using your computer.
Streamlining= I have no clue
Applications= You can buy applications from vendors online. Our very own Crackberry store has a ton of them but there are also many free ones available. I can't seem to find the link for some of the free ones right now but I will try to post it later unless someone else can find it first.
Most of them you can install directly on your blackberry by navigating to the applications link and clicking download. Others you will have to install from your computer to your berry.
SD Card= is a memory card that allows you to add more space to your phone to save pictures/ringtones/music etc....Just like a memory card for your digital camera. Make sure that your card is a "micro sd" card which is a smaller version of the SD card that will fit in your phone.
You insert the microSD card by removing the battery and slipping in the card into its designated spot. Refer to the manual for the correct method.
Merry Christmas Everyone..

Downloading something directly to your device without going through a PC and connecting the Berry to it.
Streamlining = Not a clue on this one.
Streaming, perhaps? Streaming refers to receiving a video or audio feed directly to your device over the Internet, such as TV or radio programs, stuff like YouTube videos. Could be live or pre-recorded. Streaming means you don't have to load the video/audio file onto your device to play it.
Applications = know what they are but no idea how to get them and use them

Secure Data card allows you to store files such as pix and videos on a media card instead of the BlackBerry's memory. I'm on wap so I can't see your device; installation varies between devices but it's generally located under the battery.
