This reflects most of T-Mobiles APN's, if you see
"wap.voicestream.com" or "internet2.voicestream.com" and your carrier is not t-mobile, refer to the Blackberry as a Modem thread and apply your APN accordingly

Click Device Manager, and then Ports (COM & LPT).

Complete a repair installation of the Blackberry Desktop Manager. Note that the installation CD or the original installer file may be required.
     Repeat phone-as-modem setup, referencing CCKB296677.
NOTE: Although usually unnecessary (as the Rim Virtual Serial Ports can be most efficiently reinstalled by completing a repair installation,) the procedure to manually reinstall the Rim Virtual Serial Ports is as follows:
    1. Go back to Control Panel and select Add/Remove Hardware and click Next.
    2. Select Add/Troubleshoot a device and click Next.

    2. Double-click System.
    3. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
    4. Expand Ports (COM & LPT).

With these devices, the modem will not appear in Device Manager when the device is disconnected from the computer.
In the event the failure is still encountered, confirm the Wait for dial tone before dialing check box in Phone and Modem Options > Modems > Properties > Modem tab > Dial Control is unchecked.
