Just tried it on my 9900, BIS works like a charm using WiFi.
I have no bis plan for Email , just for chatting .
The first time I entered my Email from the setup screen I received all my Emails and then nothing !!

If you have no BIS than how were you planning to send email using your Blackberry?

You need an active BIS in order to get email in the Messages folder.

I guess the big question is---since BIS can now use WiFi---does one really need to associate/activate with a cell carrier in order to send and receive email on a BB?

Akk60, what happens if you send a test message from your BB to your own email address?

Mostly likely the Service Books were there initially, but once the service figured out that you didn't have an active plan that supports email, they were removed.

A quick google on "BIS wifi" suggests that the Host Routing Table is inexplicably cleared---rendering BIS under WiFi unusable afterward.

Akk60, you might try going to Options -> Device -> Advanced System Settings -> Host Routing Table and let us know if it's empty. If it is, try choosing Register Now from the menu and let us know if that restores the HRT. If it does, try the test message again and let us know if that fixes email.

Doesn't the 7.1 Software have an App for using Prepaid cards? I can't remember what it is.

    Yeah Glad you found everything
This app is really nice, the main problem is the ugly icon ! Beside this, it has almost everything.
