    Hey,
For my part, my very first BlackBerry was the Bold 9000.
I bought it because my favorite actress Dakota Fanning had one. I bought it in October 2008.

Then I used a Bold 9900 and last march, I got this awesome Z10.
    I still use my 9900 and sometimes, I dual carry 9900 and Z10 <3

    What about you?

Red 8320 from T-Mobile in 2009. I got it on special offer and I liked the color and qwerty keyboard. Good times with that first BB.

Sent from my sexy white hot Z10 in Sin City ;-)

I got my first BB back in 2007 (curve 8300 or somtin), it was just so I could see and edit excel files... I was super surprised of all the other things it did to save me time, then upgraded to the 9000 right away when it came out.

My first was the curve 8330
I loved it, even thought it was very frustrating since it was my very first smartphone and I couldn't understand most of the things
Such as why couldn't the phone vibrate and sound at the same time... lol

Another Curve 8330 here. That was a hot phone in 2008. I originally bought it to tether my laptop. But then I discovered CrackBerry and the addiction began. That little smartphone with its tiny keys opened up a new world for me, and I still feel a bit of that excitement every time I get a new BlackBerry.

Very first BlackBerry device was the pager that clipped on my belt with the little wheel, back in '98. I thought that was real technology!

I purchased my first BlackBerry, the original Curve 8300 in 2007.

I bought it because I liked the look of it and I was attracted to being able to handle my email easily from my mobile. The commercial when the silver brain melted down to transform into the Curve had me sold!

I purchased it off contract for like $480.something.

I had the original 850 pager style Blackberry back in 2001. I convinced my law partner we needed to get them. He has since moved on to the iPhone, but I still refuse to give up my Blackberry after all these years.

First (and only) Blackberry, which also happened to be my first smartphone: Blackberry Storm 9530, December 2008

I needed a Blackberry for work and the STORM WAS THE IPHONE KILLER!!!!!!!! Verizon's Blackberry offerings, smartphone offerings in general for that matter, at the time didn't match up to what the GSM carriers like AT&T offered. I remember the original Blackberry Curve on AT&T in the summer of 2007 and wanting it. Obviously I wasn't going to leave Verizon's network for AT&T's though. But I do remember and acknowledge the happier times. I remember people exchanging BBM pins. Instead of "text me" it was "BBM me".

When I took a new job back in '03, my boss told me the company would pay my cell bill if I got a BlackBerry. Blue with a thumbwheel, we used to joke it was like holding a memo pad to your head to make phone calls.

I bought a PlayBook because it was on sale (September 2011), knew it ran QNX, and had a gesture based-GUI like the HP/Palm TouchPad. (QNX is significant to me because it was going to be the replacement OS for the Amiga at one point and I was already impressed with the TouchPad.) When I learned that I could Bridge the PlayBook to a BlackBerry phone and use my unlimited data without having to pay extra for tethering, I got a Torch 9850 (October 2011).

I got the Curve 8320 at the end of 2007, after having owned SideKicks from the original to the LX. At first the Curve seemed clunky after the SideKick, but I got used to it pretty quickly.

    Swyped in CB app.

First BB was a Tour 9630, because I was deploying to Iraq for a second time and wanted the ability to contact my wife. When I got over there, could do so - but it was darn expensive. So wound up learning all about and using Skype.

My first BlackBerry was the 7230, paid full retail for it as I was still in contract on my dumb phone. I've used BlackBerry ever since as primary device.

I've always paid for my BlackBerry outright haven't been in any contract since my first ever contract.

I went in for any new Android and left with a 9670 Style. At the time it was the best of both worlds for me. Flip phone and smart phone. I didn't really like tapping on screens. The whole BlackBerry thing was new to me and it took a while for me to "get" what it was all about but once I did, I was hooked.
