OK, I know there's the poll right now about using the trackpad on the Classic. I see, obviously there are many out there who do use the trackpad. I too think, it's a great input device, but only for OS7. OS10 came without trackpad integration and works perfectly fine without it.

So I began to wonder how a real successor to the Q10 could be like. What came to my mind is the following:

- no toolbelt

- 4 row keyboard

- removable battery

- shorter and thinner than Classic, but with the same screen size, so the device becomes smaller than a Classic. I know there are folks out there who would love a device that fits in small hands / pockets

- hardware like the Passport (CPU, memory, screen resolution, camera, maybe sensitive keyboard)

So this would imho be a real upgrade to Q10 users, because it has better specs but still keeps it small size.
It would also be an alternative for those guys who like the speed of the PP but don't like such a big device, or simply dislike the 3 row pkb.

I'm sorry I don't deliver any renderings, but I'm not familiar with such a thing...

Nice simple list. Just add "high quality" to it (no double typing, no gaps/light bleed, etc.) and you get the perfect device (at least for me). I would definitely by one.

Added a real quick preview of how the phone could look like. Simply just made two versions of the phone, one with the Q10 as basis and the passport screen on it, and on with Classic, no toolbelt and PP screen.

IMHO I would prefer something like the Q10 (of cause a tiny bit larger) than the Classic. Mainly because I like the Q10 backside more then the one the Classic has. And because the Q10 has a replaceable battery, and a better loudspeaker. Although I don't know that has something to do with the case.

But the main reason why I consider the Q10 housing as superior is the fact that the corners are more round than those on the Classic. So it feels better when holding in hand.

I prefer the ergonomics of the Q10 over the Classic and the general feel and look, and would LOVE if BlackBerry reconsidered a 4" inch Q10 successor.

A 3.75" Q20 might be the sweet spot. 1080x1080 screen or better. LCD. And give it the capacitive touch keyboard (and new key style) of the Passport.

As for battery, I'd prefer a larger non-removable battery, but it's not something I'm worried about. A snap on rear door--a la the Z30--is a must as the sliding door wore out too quickly for me.

Something people aren't saying: I really want the USB port on the side again, not the bottom. (And make it a type-c port).

And yes, the Q10's rounded styling was superior to the Classic's. The Q10 was just a better built phone.

I would even say that, the 3,5" screen which the classic has is sufficient. But it should have a higher density. 1080, better 1440...
I like small fonts, so I can see more details / text. But therefore you need a higher resolution...

The Classic is awfully wide, isn't it? Maybe 3.5 is the sweet spot afterall.
