I am not sure if anyone has noticed that WhatsApp has implemented read receipts in the Voice Notes.
The Voice notes uses three colors of microphones. The sender will have the voice note with a grey microphone until the recipient has heard the voice note.
The recipient has a green microphone until he does not hear the voice note.
The microphone turns blue as soon as the recipient has heard the voice not on the sender and the recipients WhatsApp apps.

This implementation of Voice Note Read receipts makes me wonder if WhatsApp might implement read receipts in text conversations as well. The impending launch of Cross Platform BBM must surely be putting a lot of pressure on them. Let us see how this develops.
