I keep getting text messages from one number, but it's a number I do not recognize and when I reply to ask who it is, I get no response, so my question is, is there a way to block a single number from sending texts?

    Thanks!

I think you can go through your carrier to do that.

to block a single number? I've been to the firewall screen, but the only things I saw were turning the firewall on/off or blocking all sms's. Is there a way in there to just add one number?

so there is no answer to this specific blocking need - i too need to block texts from a single number - the carrier is no help - i don't want to firewall all texts - just the nuiscence texter who will not stop at a polite request - so c'mon all you crackberries - there's got to be someone out there with a clue how to stop the text stalkers short of a court order - a little help please??? thank you

Also on Verizon you can block texts and calls through MyVerizon. I had to do that a few months ago. Has to be renewed every three months tho.

You can enable SMS blocking in the firewall and exclude all contacts from being blocked. This will only work if you receive texts from only people in your contacts. If you receive many from numbers not in your contacts, don't think you can do what you want.
