If you're using Verizon then you can't use the 8900 because it's a GSM phone.
Meaning it uses a sim card. The sim card in your Verizon phone isn't working. Your
phone is working through the CDMA radio which doesn't use the sim. Two different
technologies.
Yeah, your confined to the Tour or new Curve if you want to switch between phones. It's not as easy as switching the SIM either. You must activate it each time you want to switch, it's not that difficult though.
ahhh, i see. but it would work with either the tour or new curve?
You would need to activate the one you want each time. By calling Verizon CS, or logging into your account to switch it there, or by dialing 228 and following prompts.
Yes, but you would need to do an ESN swap every time you wanted to switch. (This can be done online or via dialing *228 from the device.)
AND if you wanted to get your emails switched to the other device, you will need to log in to your BIS page and use the "Change Device Wizard" each time to switch.
damn, seems like a lot of effort for no significant reason. thanks for the help though
It's not so bad, I switch back and forth from a Bold 9000 to a 9700 every couple of days. I just log on BIS from my device, activate my phone and bam, I'm rolling. Verizon, even with the extra step of the *228 activation shouldn't be that much different.
