    Sorry, just gotta rant...

    COME ON RIM!!! WTF!!!

I originally got into Blackberry with my trusty Curve 8310. I loved that phone, but sometimes when you pick it up, the camera turns on. It's assigned to the right convenience key. This may be part of the problem, but you need a camera to get those "moments" that never happen again.

I got my Bold next. Love it even more than the Curve. It's still IMHO, the best BB I've used to date. It used to activate the right convenience key function, and the left key also. I set the left key to nothing, and I still have my camera on the right. I would say 90% of the time that you pick the phone up, or out of the holster the camera is on. It doesn't matter where you touch it.

I got my Storm last. I just wanted a toy, and I'm not a fan of Apple's gestapo techniques. The phone is just fun. It is. Yet, it still retains the functionality of a BB. My left convenience key is my music player, the right is the camera. Most of the time I pick this phone up, or put it in the holster I hear "please say a command". I don't have voice dialing assigned to anything, nor have I ever pondered using it. Yet, I hear it 10-20 times a day.

Come on RIM, seriously...I have 3 of your phones, and they all do the same things; open programs I didn't tell it to when I pick it up!

That being said, I do love the phones...I just wanted to vent.

I have a Pwarl 8120, with the right convenience key also set to Camera (is this a standard BB configuration). I set the left the convenience key to be activate keypad lock, so the last thing I do before holstering the phone or putting in my pocket is press the left convenience key. Keypad locked so when I next pull it out it doesn't do anything until I unlock the keypad! Simples!

I've never had this problem, the key is recessed and you have to pretty much try to press it. And as the other poster stated, just make sure it's locked. Any holster I get has a magnet so it auto locks when you put it away, very handy.
