How do you know what Operating System you have and If I want to upgrade how do I go about doing that. Does it erase your memory or will you lose anything by upgrading? Thanks!

You can go to Options>About to find out what OS you are running.

I would recommend being comfortable with both your device and upgrade procedure before worrying about upgrading. Why not spend some time reading up on the process first, this site is an excellent place to do so.

Thank you so much grit! I am mainly intrested in upgrading for the simple fact of getting a new theme. I have looked at the option>about and Im not sure what my OP is.. it says..v4.3.0.127 (Platform3.1.0.72) what does this mean?

You are on operating system 4.3.0.127


You don't need to upgrade to get new themes.

Vndlewis has confirmed your OS. I have to agree that it is not necessary to upgrade your OS just to get a new theme. If you search there will be themes that you can get staying as you are.
