Alright I did a little searching and could not find answers so I am just going to ask. I just got my sprint 8330 and switched from an 8830, the 8330 has quite a few extra icons on it that I will never use (AIM, Facebook, Yahoo, Gmail). Now I can get rid of the icons by either hiding them or deleting the service books. Now the question is...is there an advantage to doing one or the other of these two options. Do I save memory by deleting the service books? And just one more question (for now)...if I update my OS are these service books going to come back?
I know there are a lot of questions in there but I am really curious as to what is the best way to get rid of these icons.
    Thanks in advance
    Ryan

You need your service books to use internet and email. Delete any app you are not using to free up memory space. Options > Advanced > Applications > scroll to it and menu > delete. If they are not there (like Facebook I know won't be) use the link in my signature for DM app removal.

I know that certain service books are needed but the ones that say "AIM" "GMail" and so on are not so I understand that deleting some service books will take away functionality. And none of the links in your sig are going to help me because these arent programs they are essentially links to websites where i can download the program and not an actual app, they dont show up in DM

There is no way to get rid of them. If you delete the service books, the next time they get pushed to your phone, those icons will come back. The good news is that they are merely place holders and use virtually no memory. The only thing you could do is to hide the icons.

I think the memory optization link in Berrys signature is a must. Just my 2 cents.
