are you kidding? Viber? Really. loyal and sad blackberry fan. What do you own a blackberry for? To play games? To use it for business purposes or productivity? This is not a toy. if you want a toy go buy an iphone. The apps you are discussing are in no way useful to you in the business world. BBM, Calendar apps and notes not to mention the hub etc. If you want some crappy apps on a buggy phone will scare ware everywhere go buy android. I just dont understand some people. Even after the android apk work around people are realising most of the apps they need are already on blackberry the rest is just fluff. I actually question your loyalty if this is what you are complaining about. Hopefully you just mistakenly posted this because if you are serious then i think you might want to read over what you wrote.
You talked rubbish.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even when it is incorrect. Lack of apps are you serious? I would not call myself an app person and I have hundreds on my Z10. I have access to millions more; unfortunately the vast majority of apps are useless.
The OP is correct about the app problem, most people already know this and have known this for quite some time. I agree that blackberry should focus hard on software and less on putting out phones. Apps are very important even though some one here dont think so.
Everyone knows they're important hence the push BlackBerry made to get us the apps we wanted. It's also the reason they decided to unlock the android runtime for the consumer. Seeing as the adoption of BB10 hasn't been what many were hoping, the majors have continued to hold off, but make no mistake, BlackBerry made efforts to get them on board.

John Chen does not believe enterprise needs apps
Where were you last year (and even earlier) when BlackBerry was practically sitting there, telling developers that they'd hold their hand in the app building process, or Android port over process?
Short of BlackBerry employees kidnapping developers and putting guns to their heads, there's nothing else BlackBerry can do to get missing big name apps onboard. Do you think BlackBerry didn't try? Do you think they like not being able to say that their platform has all the apps the other platforms do?
Why did you buy a Q10 and hope to play a bunch of games on it? If you had Subway Surfers on it, you'd probably complain that the screen isn't big enough. The Q10 isn't really meant for games. It can run some, but what type of gaming experience would you hope to have on a Q10?
I don't understand why people are embarrassed by their phone. It's not like some physical deformity that you're afraid others will find disgusting. It's a PHONE. Get a new one if you're that concerned about what your friends think. If your friends think less of you because you have a BlackBerry, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but they're probably not good friends and you have a bigger problem in life than no Subway Surfers or Line or Viber or whateverthephucc on your shameful Q10.
Not sure what else blackberry can do really.. I remember them offering to develop the Netflix app full themselves and Netflix said no.
They came up with the Android runtime which at least helps. Idk what else you want from them.
Their OS is apparently the easiest to develop on...

BlackBerry can't really do anything until they get the user base up. Remember developing an app doesn't just mean taking the time to do the conversion, you have to find the programmers that want to work on the OS. Programmers want to be the next whatsapp or even flappy bird. So they don't want to spend two months making a BlackBerry app. They want to spend that time programming something in iOS. Or maybe android. This isn't changing anytime soon.
But runtime will get more and more user friendly and more powerful. So app issues will get better. Also the os will contue to incorporate more and more stuff that is currently handled by apps.

OP please! The apps you are looking for ARE available on BlackBerry the latest 10.2.1 can get you what you want through Snap. Amazon or any other store, there are some built for BlackBerry in BlackBerry World, you now have a hybrid device able to get both BlackBerry native and most Android apps. Not ideal but for the moment the app gap has closed considerably, I am sure BlackBerry and Developers aren't sitting back and not working on the apps that are missing or yet to be native. Owning a BlackBerry is a plus not a negative!

ah yes the mandatory 'hard-core BB fan' or 'been a long time user" (insert BB phones used in the past)...lovely template this is. Ok proceed to cuss about BB and something about apps or lack thereof...yep...ok OP....why shou.d we read your thread instead of the hundreds like yours that have already been written?....
very very laggy u say? Interesting. ....

I don't mind the lack of applications, especially with the Android Runtime... what really bugs me is that they take waaaay too long to update popular apps like twitter and facebook

You're ashamed to tell people you use a BlackBerry? There are greater things to be ashamed of and greater tragedies in the world than using a BlackBerry. And that's not even a tragedy. I used a 9900 up until last November. I briefly had an iPhone 5 and I was ashamed of that thing. I wouldn't pull up out of there were a group of young teens with theirs all glittered up. Didn't want to be associated with that. I wouldn't pull it out when a group of people were using their 5 inch plus screens. All I would get was "how can you use such a small screen". I went back to the 9900, battery aside it's my all time favourite phone. Now I have a z30 and I actually get compliments like "I can't believe that's a BlackBerry " or "that's going to be my next phone".

Well honestly I have been a little worried about BlackBerry and their future but since Mr. Chen became CEO I have had my faith restored. He does have a HUGE workload and the consumers may never go towards BlackBerry since the (US) media hates BlackBerry so much. We will just see what happens.
Keep The Faith ? BlackBerry Q10 ?
I would post a response but I am too busy on my Z10 checking my Instagram, Chase Bank account, and reviewing that crazy bar tab on my TabbedOut application...
Wait... what did you say about BB10??
Now I understand why BlackBerry is not chasing apps. Because the fans of BlackBerry actually doesn't bother of apps. They just need BlackBerry. Its good only. But one thing, not all the BlackBerry fans are business personnells. There is always a second category.

I think he should buy an iPhone n Android phone, keep his Q10, and he will be sorted

Yeah that second category would be someone who has never owned a BlackBerry 10 device and comes on the forum and does an Ace Ventura.

I own a bb, I'm a student. Stop assuming only business gurus use bb. If that was the case BlackBerry would be pretty much dead
