Looking forward to Viber on the Z10.
Excellent read. I have been ignoring Viber but, as I see it being mentioned more and more, I have been getting ready to research it. I'd be willing to dump Whatsapp for the extra capabilities in Viber. And I'd like to see Skype knocked down a few pegs by a more agile opponent.
I agree, it was an informative read and gave some insight why the delay for the Blackberry platform. I'm going to give Viber a try not only on my Z10, but also on my PC. So far I like Skype on my Z10 and I've used Skype on my PC for years.
Hi,
This is an official representative from Viber. :)
As usual, we're here to address our users' questions and doubts directly. If you need assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know :)
Best regards,
the Viber Team.
It's great to see such support from Viber. You guys have often impressed me as a company, & as a product. Nothing beats BBM, but you guys are my 2nd choice for communication on my BB's & 1st when using my iPhone....just wish I could use you on my Q10
....so the only question I would have is "any updates on BB10 deployment?"

@BBPandy -
Our BB10 app is currently in advanced levels of development and testing. We're working as fast as we can, and we hope to bring you news soon. Note that the wait for our BB10 app will not be nearly as long as the wait for the update for the current version had been.
Thanks viber rep, hope we have it soon :)

Question, maybe wrong place, but where is the right place.
I travel and change SIM card in each country I go, ( different number) how does my viber account stay with me
Hi there,
Viber is "linked" with the device itself, not the SIM card that's inside the device.
This means that if your Viber is currently registered with your current number, then even when you go abroad and/or change SIM cards, your Viber identity (number) will remain the same, i.e the number with which you originally registered, and this is the number you should tell your friends to call you via Viber in order to reach you :)
In order to change Viber's number, you would need to re-register to Viber, and enter your new number where you can receive our code (via SMS or automatic call).
Thank you for you help
Viber CEO confirming that app will be released with OS 10.2

That means it won't be here till Sept or Oct :(
Can we get confirmation from the local Viber Rep that hangs out in this thread? Is Viber coming to BB10 with 10.2?
It makes sense that it would. I can see Viber needing to be a headless app.

Can't wait to give it a try! Sounds like Viper really want all the way in developing a great app that fully utilizes BB10.

Hi,
The reason for the releasing for Viber for BB10 hand-in-hand with OS 10.2 are technological reasons (some important development/fixes in the new OS, 10.2).
This is note a final statement by us, but as our CEO explained, that's probably what's going to happen. As we have more concrete info, we'll certainly share.
I've never heard of Viber before this thread, but if it's as good as you guys say it is I'll definitely look into it once it's available.
It's not as good as BBM, but it's quite good. B4 I got my Q10 it was my msg app of choice from cross platform messaging. I also have it on my iPhone (the only productive, non-game app I have on it)
