does any one know if bb is coming out w a push to talk like walkie talkie,
my husband has an old one w his company and they only want push to talk any info on new release?
Would be nice if Verizon would expand their push to talk network a bit, and throw it into a blackberry! I know not a lot of ppl use verizons ptt yet, but I'm sure it will catch on soon!

Sprint usually waits a while before getting new devices. Like the G1 they said it wasn't good enough for them because its new and they don't want a buggy phone to deal with through CS not to mention that they have to wait for T-Mobiles exclusive period to end as well as Verizons for the storm and pearl flip. And PTT will only be on the nextel Curve comming sometime around Christmas operating Nextels IDN network which is slop for data. I would reccommend getting a Sprint curve over a nextel curve

No plans for any of the CDMA networks to have a Blackberry with PTT being mentioned. I don't think any of their PTT service is good enough. Besides the initial start up, AT&T's PTT service is half a second slower than Nextel's and it has call waiting unlike those iDen boys!
With the 8350i coming out, I think if that goes over well, I think that Sprint will be the first to have a CDMA PTT BB come out, working over the QChat app on the CDMA side. That would probably get the ball rolling. BUT............ then they would all (carriers) have to agree on a PTT standard, for it to be useful or beneficial at all. I thought when WLNP was established, they also established a standard for PTT, but now I can't find that information.
