I have been installing some applications on my Q10 from the Snap app (which by the way the new android kitkat apps updated are wayyyyy better working than the older versions apps, but anyway) and a couple of these apps are headless and can send push notifications, notably the yahoo news digest and the appy geek. I have the same apps on my LG GPAD 8.3 and on the same wifi connection, weirdly I get the same notification on my Q10 around at least half an hour to one hour before getting it on my LG. That's another reason why am liking the Android runtime and BB10 all-in-all experience.

I'm not saying this is necessarily 'across the board', but my mate has an LG phone, and he's always moaning that his push-notifications are slow also.
