All of a sudden my volume key can not be adjusted. It is stuck in the highest volume mode. I have not dropped it. Is the key suddenly non-functioning or is there a setting that accidently was changed? Any thoughts, please advise.

does the LCD response respond to the press of the volume key?
Like on my device if its unlocked, if i press the volume key the lcd will light up.
Have you tested the volume control of the key with the music app as well as the phone?
Have you recently upgraded your software of your bb?

Mine is similar. The volume keys work intermittently and volume up nolonger works at the top of the key. You have to hit it in the middle.
I assumed it was physical damage rather than OS.
I did notice that when in Pandora if you hit the volume up button in quick succession it skips to the next track. Strange?
