I own a BB 8900. When composing an email it no longer automatically corrects contractions. For instance, if I type "ill" it used to automatically correct it to 'I'll' same thing with "im" to "I'm" and "i" to "I", etc.

What setting could I have set to stop this feature?

Have you tried going to Options--> SMS Text--> see if disable auto text says yes or no. it should say "no" if you would like to use the function....what does it say?

Options>Spell Check and check "Check spelling as you type"

However your problem is that somehow the AutoText feature isn't working on your phone....

I would also check out your auto text list and make sure that you have those contractions listed...if not you can create them...

For some reason it was set to Spanish.

Now hopefully you're not going to have that annoying "EN" symbol in the top
right corner each time you type something now.
