For some reason lately when I receive a message with Blackberry Messenger it does not show up in the current conversation that I was having with that person, this has been going on for the past week or so. The tone will sound but nothing shows up, if I end the conversation, the messages that i missed will be displayed in another conversation. Does anyone know what I have to do to keep the same conversation running?

Before you do this, make sure you have make a copy (write it down) of their pin number...

Remove the person, i.e. delete said contact. Wait a few minutes (it automatically deletes you from the persons device). Now re-add them...

BBMessenger does strange things sometimes. Do what NaviWilliams says and also reboot the device often to prevent this issue.
