If you can live without Internet turn off your mobile data and wifi. That's the only thing I can think of if you're on a BlackBerry phone.

How about just deleting your BBM app until you are ready to use it again? When you re-install BBM and login with your BlackBerry ID, all your contacts will reappear just as before.

That's what I would do if I were in your place. I hope things turn out ok at your end.

Oops! Sorry OP, I forgot that you can't delete BBM. I guess that one has to disable notifications in that case.

Log into BBM on another device. Turn that device off. Log back into BBM on your phone when ready to use it again.

If you really need space and time.... power your phone off and leave it in a drawer until you're ready.

I tried this and my custom background changed as did all my icons and how they were displayed. Really freaked me out. No more parental controls for me. I'm using a Z30 STA 100-3/ 10.3.2. 858
