    I have well over 1000 texts that I would like to transfer over to a BB if possible. Are there any free or paid solutions that will facilitate this?

    Have you tried the Switch Device Wizard in Desktop Manager? I haven't used it for your purpose and can't guarantee it will work, but it's free to try. Be sure you have a good backup before you do anything.
