POP email seems to circumvent Exchange Defender spam filtering service
I am not a BB user but I play one on TV.
I have a client who uses BB with T-mobile. We just moved her MX for her domain and have all email running through Exchange Defender. She has begun receiving spam on BB (not pc) and mentioned that when they were with 1and1.com she didn't.
I've been poking around and ran across this entry blackberryforums.pinstack.com/60088-does_bis_get_emails_before_the_isp_spam_filters.ht ml Does BIS get emails before the ISP spam filters? - PinStack.com - BlackBerry forums but I'm still unclear whether her device is popping the email or if it's accessing it before it goes through the filtering service.
I'm fairly certain that she's on BIS since they don't use exchange server.
I did ask her if the spam is coming through her corporate email or the bb email, but haven't heard back yet.
Can anyone shed light on this to help me understand and resolve why she would suddenly receive spam on BB when, if she is accessing it via pop, it should be filtered first by the Exchange Defender service?
Thanks,
Tj
