Don't plan to use it. Never really have. Tried it for about one week when I had my Android phone.

I actually think what's app is better than bbm. It takes too long to send messages on BBM, relative to what's app.

However, I think Facebook is going to regret this purchase. The valuation is insane and goes to show BBM is worth at least 1/5th the value.

Bbm needs to step it up a little with performance on ios and android. And some options like multiple attachments need to be included!

I really hope this is done asap, and have more adoption rate amongst ios and droid users to enable us to simply delete it once and for all!

Now that facebook is buying them I really really really wanna delete it!

Really want to, but apparently the BlackBerry name is so tarnished in The Netherlands that the mere mention of BBM sends people running for the (figurative) hills. So I'm suppose I'm stuck

I used it last summer when my wife went to Europe so we could talk over wifi with no sms charges as she had at th time an Iphone 5 and BBM cross platform was late. Once she returned I deleted the app as did she and had now switched to Z30.

Most of my friends had Blackberries at one point and many still do, 95% of those who do not have an Iphone and I would guess 90% of them use imessage and or BBM only and almost no one I know uses whatsapp. Most push back I get when I recommend BBM is why do they need that over SMS and I'd you are just talking locally / in country to people here in Canada then I can see their point.

There is a lot more to BBM and the group chats I have for my Fantasy Football league and hockey team are great. I will slowly introduce my iPhone friends to channels but I think BBM video is really needed so they can realize it is easy to talk cross platform with their BlackBerry and Android friends.

Nope. What's app works for my family and I. I'll continue to use what's app until I come across a better alternative.

I stopped using it a long time ago and I don't intend to use it ever again .... As for people complaining about BBM in iOS and android, BBM just went cross-platform like 6 months ago (or less)... It has lots of improvements to be done on iOS and android no doubt but the updates are coming waaaaay faster than I thought it would ... Actually, I thought BBM will never come to other platform let along update it at this rate ....

I have very few contacts on BBM. And I have promoted the cross platform etc. I use WhatsApp. I am able to send videos, mp3 files and attach multiple photos quite efficiently thru it. I make my decisions based on utilitarian reasons. Which is why I also use a BlackBerry . If BBM improves, I will try again to get others to switch.

The beauty of this kind of acquisition is that few people are going to unilaterally decide to stop using Whatsapp since you're using it to communicate with other people since it would mean cutting off people you are messaging on a regular basis. Even if you can do all the work convincing your friends to get off Whatsapp, will they do the same for their friends? Probably not. That means they will still be using it and all you have accomplished for all of that work is decreased their user base by one.
