To OP. Why? Nothing wrong with Android. 1000s of devices to choose from. Many apps to choose from. Android may be the phone for you. Phones are personal devices, pick one that does what you want. Only YOU can decide. Your OS options are now BB, Apple, Android, and WP. Each of these OSes has several flavors available. More are coming. You do not need convincing you need to do your homework. Good luck. My next phone is a BB.
And, in addition, actually paying attention to what the user's needs are. ANewUser is tied into many things Google, regardless of whether anyone thinks they should be or not. The latest BB offering, as released, presents a potential dilemma, and guidance was requested, and provided. Change definitely can create an anxiety, and honest information is the way to handle it. I think many have been more helpful than hindering in the thread.
Like EMU the Foo said wait and see what changes and adds get made for BB10.
Thanks for the insights - I'd likely stick with NExus or Galaxy as I'm not too techy.
Nice, thanks. I guess if I do POP instead of IMAP I'll be able to delete emails on device but they stay on server (just like on BB)
Good to know. I always added extended batteries to BB, happy to do same w Android
I see, the Nexus 4 looks like a good option then. Do you happen to know if Google Now works in Canada?
Cool, I'd end up getting a Mugen or extended battery too probably
I agree BB10 looks to leapfrog the others but apps are a problem.
Re: Gmail, if I use browser, those results arent incorporated into the native phone search, so its much less powerful. I need to be able to search for all emails from long ago, as part of native phone search
I'm watching BB10 too - have been for a year now. HOpefully they get Google Apps soon. I guess its Google Voice or Galaxy 4 - whichever comes first
Yeah, sorry, I guess I did this.
I'm a BB user 10 yrs now but seriously considering moving on. Its been a good ride though.
Looks great.
I'm just paranoid Google will pull this away the way they did every other Google App that used to work on my 9900 (gmail app - search doesnt workl google maps - barely works; google voice - actually works ok but seems to be discontinued for BB10
Good points.
Wow emails stay only 30 days on BB device now? Or am I mis-reading....
PageOnce looks nice.
Seeking info ... still love my 9900 ... wishing BB could get some degree of agreement from Google.
ANother thing I dont understand about BB: why cant they make a non-slider large-screen qwerty phone? Im going blind with these little screens.
Interesting. Can I ask which Android you use and any other app or gear tips?
I hear you. A lot of good info has come out though. I feel like BB and Android are very closely aligned in many ways. Almost like BB is the high-end Android phone.
lol actually thinking about the SGS4 =)
I assume on Android, Universal Search can check your gmail (ie an email from 6 yrs ago no)?
Archiving it's more intuitive, IMHO.
That is my current thought. It just feels like David can't possibly win this one Unfortunately
Yes. You have access to EVERY email in that email box.
But then I'd have to un-archive it to read it again. I like using phone to peruse quickly (triage), but then laptop to do the tougher email work
Cool, but how would Universal Search work with multiple Gmail accounts? Would it check all of them?
On laptop, you can toggle All Mail. On device, email will be gone, but it will appear on desktop.
