So I'm laying on the couch while on my PlayBook and that thing is I removed the internet my house so I no longer have Internet and I usually use the hot spot off my BlackBerry Z10 but it's disconnected the WiFi radios on the PlayBook but there is no connection to it. I've been using the BlackBerry Bridge app for a while now and I think the connection is going through the BlackBerry Bridge via Bluetooth. I opened up the browser and it loads up quite slowly I noticed when I first opened up the movies app on the PlayBook when it loaded I proceeded to load up the trailer specifically the veronica Mars trailer I noticed that the video was playing but nothing was connected how is it possible ?

    Bridge.

That's the value of the PlayBook / BlackBerry phone connection.

it was never advertised properly and under appreciated. BB10 has removed some of the advantages too. Internet connection is still great though - especially with the phone on an LTE network.

You are connected somewhere. Go to the gear/WiFi and see where.

This is like earlier with my Z10. When I got to school this morning, I shut my mobile network off but leave WiFi on. Will I was bbm'ing my dad when WiFi dropped. The web browser wasn't loading at all in school or on my phone but I was some how using bbm still. How was I doing this?

You are connected via Bridge. That's what it does. It gives you an Internet connection via your phone through BT. When BB10 was released that was actually the only thing it did (BBM and SMS was added later).

I agree no way I'm connected to wifi btw guys this is definitely over bridge. Some apps still work but others say that you need to be connected to the network (wifi). Been testing it all night. Have you all seen the video. If so you think that this is an awesome feature?

    Well,

Sometimes my PlayBook refuses to log in to the same wifi that my z10 can. (for reasons I do not understand)..

    The solution?

    1) Turn Bridge on for PB and Z10.
    2) Turn off mobile data (so Z10 only runs on wifi data)
    3) watch PlayBook get internet from Z10.
    4) Profit!

Lol on underpants. Still I'm seeing the pb work better on bridge than hotspot. But when on bridge cursor lags significantly. Anyone say the same?

If Bridge works the same way with BB10 phones as it did with Legacy phones, using Bridge instead of connecting the Playbook over a WiFi hotspot from your phone may actually be cheaper too.

A bridged Playbook using the internet is indistinguishable from a carrier's viewpoint than if you were using the Internet from your phone directly. The Playbook uses the phones DataPlan to connect which you've likely already paid for in your monthly bill.

However, using the phone as a WiFi hotspot is using the phone as a tethered modem. The carrier network can see this usage and often charges extra for it. They don't charge extra for tethering here in the UK, but I've read here that they *do* charge in many countries.
