Yeah. CEO's step down all the time and walk away from their million dollar contracts because the fans on an Internet forum think they should. I'd anticipate his departure as early as next week.

True, but "stepping down" in those cases means that the board told him or her they were out. JC isn't going to willingly walk away from Blackberry unless he's voted out. He's made some real progress for them in software. It's not like he's done nothing positive for them. Unless the board is absolutely desperate for phones to be a success there is no way he's going anywhere.

And let's be honest here. Chen isn't doing anything behind closed doors that no one is aware of at Blackberry. These are decisions they are aware of and they must be happy with hem or they wouldn't have allowed him to take the focus to software instead of hardware in the first place. Bottom line, they knew where they were headed when they brought him in. CrackBerry didn't, but Blackberry did.
