    No one was the winner....

Sounds like BB10 devices are out of production.
Sounds like Chen is planning a mid-range, high margin, enterprise focused (and maybe direct sales) Android Device.

But no the PRIV isn't a PlayBook disaster, because they keep inventory levels low. So no billion dollar write off like the PlayBook and Z10 got. And based on marketing... I'm not sure Chen was all that surprised.

I would estimate in the 100-200K range max. I seriously doubt BB10 sales have tanked that fast and that quickly and I also seriously doubt Priv sales have surpassed BB10 device sales. With all the promotions on BB10 hardware (and almost nothing on the Priv) the BlackBerry fan base, I would expect, found an upgraded BB10 device (at a reduced price) to be a more attractive option than a much more expensive Priv.

It will only get worse guys as Whatsapp and Facebook stoppes for BB10 and BBOS. I find it offensive that they're gonna let it go like this, I'd rather had them pull the plug whistle not having Android devices, I mean that just low for BlackBerry. It's like Apple using Android on some iPhones LOL.

The other view is that anyone who wanted a BB10 device had already bought one. I say 400k for the PRIV.

My view is that Chen has a failure to commit. He can't wait for the day when he no longer has to use a BlackBerry.

Chen needs to step down. He doesn't know what to do when it comes to hardware division. Sure BlackBerry is making positive revenue with software and that's where it will head in the future, but the world only knows BlackBerry for it's devices. If he can't produce profit in devices then he should be sacked this quarter and be replaced with someone who knows how to be competitive in this smartphone market.

I'm sure Chen knows *exactly* what he's going to do with Hardware... he's just not telling the folks on CB in case it stops them buying a BB phone!

600k devices sold for the last quarter. Let me guess. 350k - 400k for Priv and the rest for BB10 devices.

I think they'd mention it if it was any worthy, so probably 100.001 Priv handsets.

No, they don't mention it - just like they've [b]never[b] broken out handset sales by device type, even going back to the now-nostalgic days of Mike and Jim.

Just like no one else breaks out handset sales by device type. Not Samsung, not Apple, ... none of them do it.

But hey ... let's all keep pretending it happened for years now, so obviously it should be done today - and so the fact that it doesn't is "proof
    of [insert comment here].

    Six.
I think there are more than six on Crackberry alone. I think a more realistic number is like 70 or 80.

Yeah. CEO's step down all the time and walk away from their million dollar contracts because the fans on an Internet forum think they should. I'd anticipate his departure as early as next week.
