I sold my 8820 to a friend (his first BB). He has a pay as you go plan through ATT, no data plan.
I tried sending a PIN invite via BBM. He never got the invite, he sent an invite as well and I never got it. I sent him a PIN message and on my end it the message was red suggesting it never made it. He tried the same on his end and the message was also red after clicking send.
Anyone know what the problem may be?
Does PIN messaging only work if you have a data plan?
Yes, you must have a data plan to use it...
The PIN number is what identifies your BB on the BIS network, much like a phone number identifies your phone.
PIN messages are red. Just pay attention to the status of the message on the far right (like a text or an email). That will tell if the message was delivered.
