Just standing waiting for a bus and just saw the person in front of me type in their number password on an iPhone which I actually tried to memorise just to get a feel of what others can do when I'm using it on my BlackBerry z10. BlackBerry has the same number password but I'm glad it also has the picture password. I know the fingerprint ID is good too but one of my mates says he refuses to use it cos all it takes is for him to be asleep and his partner can easily place his finger on his phone and gain access. No way that can happen with a picture password.

Needless to say I've just changed my settings to picture password.

His partner? He's worried about his GF!? Hahahhaha

What exactly does he have to hide?

You have to pick the number I chose from the number grid and place it on the exact same spot I chose too on the picture behind. That spot could be anywhere on the picture you see.

It's more of a shame you can't stick to the topic without bringing your insecurities into it. Please stay on topic or go preach elsewhere. Thanks.

In the 1055 build there was some bug in picture password, it would stop working. Had read someone got locked out of their phone.

Are u facing any bugs. I really wanna try this but don't want the phone to lock me out

I have tried twice to get it setup and it always goes back to my password, never see the picture password. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

Protecting your phone with a password is crucial, if you do more than playing with it! Your contact list, your online banking, your business documents/data... I think it is absolutely necessary to keep the information safe (and your media card encrypted!)

How a person is gonna crack this picture password thing is extremely unlikely. Kudos to BB for implementing it. They really should advertise this feature and more.

Just curious... if you mistype yourself... does your phone block/swipe? or does it show the "real pw" prompt?

You get 5 attempts. After that you need to put in the real password

Looks very interesting. I'm one of those people who never had a password on their phone - until I got my Z10. My curve was too hard for most people to figure out (read - the kids) but they are so quick to pick up on the Z10 I decided some security was in order. Lol.

I don't think anyone watches me unlock my phone and there are many days I'm tempted to turn it off. I wish I could set a time on it - so it remains unlocked through the week when I'm at work.

I was at a mall and somebody from a cell phone kiosk saw me use pic pw. They thought it was really cool and said they had never seen anything like it. I was kinda surprised because I just assumed all the other platforms had something similar as an option

Although this new kind of security BlackBerry has introduced is pretty awsum.. (no one can even see the screen and guess my password lol)
It's a little slow and slows me down too
See.. whenever I swipe up.. the password screen takes a second or two to pop up and then I enter it..
Only if a little more RAM priority was given to the code which runs the password, and it would pop up as soon as I swipe up.. that would be great
