    I just got my very first blackberry (a bold) and I was wondering how I can get my phone to light up when I get a text message? Is this possible?

    My phone always lit up on my treo when I received messages and I've tried looking everywhere for this option on my BB.

    You can also do this with BBLight (which is free).

    They are 3rd party applications you would need to use to achieve what you want to do, since lighting up when you receive a text ins't pre-coded into the BBerry OS.
