It looks like those 8530/8520 models. It was a Curve, but they were tiny.

Nope. There's no BB10 in House of Cards. Except maybe in Season 4. But I'm not that far yet.

Curve uses trackball. The one in the picture uses track pad. I think its a bold.

I owned an 8530 as a stop gap for six months. It had the small pad in the picture. The BlackBerry Pearl, I think it was an 8110 and my first BlackBerry, before that has the trackball. I remember it well.

The image at the link I posted verifies my statement.

It was a tiny device. I hated it, but I had lost my previous BB and the 9900 was soon to be released so I went with something that would get me by. The Bold 9900 was an amazing device. I sold it here in the market a year ago.

Looks like the trackpad ring is lit up. From memory wasn't the bold line the only phones that had that ability?

The track pad is lit up on the perimeter. The keypad is curved WITH frets.

It's a Bold. None of the Curves had frets between the keyboard rows.

But the screen is definitely showing a BB10.3 UI.

Typical Hollywood on-screen hybrid. You know, the kind where the screen stays lit even when the actor puts the phone up to their ear.

It's interesting. I didn't see the scene in question (I've never watched the show itself - not enough time to do the things I gotta do as it is), but was the screen actually working? I mean, was there scrolling and letters typing out going on - actually animated? Or was it a static screen that could have simply been a still image displayed?

And how long did they keep the shot on the phone before cutting away?

It is actually animated. He doesn't actually scroll, you can tell by his thumb gesture, the screen scrolls crazyyy fast then slow and stops at the person's name while his thumb didn't even follow this said series of events.

Now, why would they do that, I wonder? I mean, it's clear enough they're not shy of showing the blackberry logo, and any long time BB fan would've known almost instantly what model the phone is--at least, clearly a BBOS. Why the theatrics with BB10 animation?
