I've recently picked up an unlocked Curve 8900. I'm going to live back and forth between Ireland and Canada where in Ireland I intend to to use Meteor as my carrier. I'm a pay as you go customer on the Meteor network and have no intention of using the data services while on their network (Meteor doesn't support blackberry services anyway and wifi will be filling all my internet needs).
However I am concerned about the device "attempting" to access data services in the background without my knowledge and thus draining my prepay credit. Has anyone using prepay and no data plan on their berry had any such issue? Thanks in advance.
