Have you guys seen and read the hype behind the Palm Pre? That thing is slick. Do you believe that it will kill the iPhone and Blackberry all together? All I know is that RIM needs to make some drastic improvements and impressions to the OS.
Yea I'm giving up my 8330 as soon as the pre come out...I think a killer for a lot of people on the pre is that u HAVE to get the simply everything plan..and people from other service: verizon, att, tmo etc...not gone go for that..even though sprint does have the cheapest serivce for PDA's. :-). But I don't think it will take away from the iphone or BB..palm has their own lane wit their phones

I'm not sure about the features of the pre OS all I know is that the BB is capable of my on the go needs and that for everything else I have my netbook.
The BB and a netbook are a perfect combination.

There have been many wet dreams over the device, and certainly a multitude of threads regarding this. Until people use it for a while in the real world, no one knows. And has the iPhone hurt BlackBerry? Not hardly.

No, I believe that since it runs WinMo, it will continually fall over.
This device "killer" thing is starting to get out of hand. A device is a device and specific to the needs of a specific person.
It doesnt have to be specific, a One for all device is possible, they are basically computers, it all depends on how good the OS is and more than one crowd can be targeted. A ___ killer is just the next amazing phone

Most of these devices are being pushed as "all in one" devices without specifically using that term. But there is just no such thing as an all in one device. There are a bunch of threads on here with people who want to go back to the iPhone because the Blackberry's lack so and so thing. Same goes for the forums over @ the iPhone blog. Nobody will ever be pleased. So one device won't eliminate another.

eventually all devices will have similary or exact components just like how mac finally could run windows when they got the core2. at that point it will be a war of OSs.
RIM could easily implement a One for all OS in a future phone, its just software, The hardware capabilities are catching up at a rapid pace

It is not a windows mobile device.
It is running on palms new web os and it looks pretty nice.
It is a new os and I think if it takes off then palm will help cruise into the future

Yes, the Pre runs on WebOS, which I believe is the new incarnation of the good ole palm we all love. I really don't believe that a new smartphone will kill off any other, more so, its taking market share away from the traditional 1 dimensional phone (the motos and nokidas). As networks become faster and media capabilities become commonplace, I envision phone devices ro become more and more productivity and multimedia focused.
Who would have thought mobile internet would be so big? If you look around CB now, a significant amt of postings are done via BBs..

Yup, this Palm isn't going to be ruined by Windows Mobile. Like others have said, it's Palm's new OS, Web OS. I still wont move to Sprint, and it will not kill the iPhone or BlackBerry.
