Where does FCC approval fall in all this? Realizing that this is a U.S. thing, in the past, we've seen FCC documents that approve various BBs within weeks (or less) of carrier announcements in the U.S.

Not one to follow Apple, WP and Android phones, are there similar approvals for those from the FCC just prior to launch, too? I never hear of it.

Android phones get tested by the FCC too; FCC testing is done before carrier testing. I don't know about iPhones, but my guess is they are tested too.

The FCC is in the USA only so I'm not sure how that works.
