Outlook Address Book
Anyone have an idea why my Outlook Address book on my Blacberry 8830 has more contacts than my desktop? Currently using wireless transfer, enterprise server at work, Outlook 2003. Contacts on desktop is 7,778 contacts and 8,345 on the device.
Thanks for any help.

Maybe there are some duplicates along the way somewhere?
Or just flat-out too many contacts? LOL I'm sure your phone takes a while to start up.

Clean up
You are right about too many contacts, but I am trying t clean up outlook on my PC, but it doesn't seem to sync with device properly. I deleted 600 contacts from Outlook (PC) and still have them on device. That's where I could use help! Thanks.

Has your address book got multiple contacts for the same person, like a seperate one for mobile phone, business line, email etc.?

I would try wiping the contacts on the device and resyncing.

I agree with ntm regarding starting fresh. Delete the address book and also check to see if you are allowing duplicate names under your contacts in Menu > Options > General options and then under actions uncheck "Allow Duplicate Names". That may help with that many contacts.
