    I have a BB Bold 9000 which was originally purchased through AT&T. I have recently moved to Canada and have switched my carrier to Rogers and was given the unlock code by AT&T. The Rogers SIM card does not allow me to place outgoing calls as a SIM Toolkit error & SIM: Call Barred, message come up. I have tried other Rogers SIM cards and the same error occurs. When i replace the AT&T card back into the BB i have no problem making outgoing calls. Rogers Technical Support will not support the issue as they claim they do not support unlocked phones.

    Any suggestions? I do not want to buy a new BB and i also do not want to stay on AT&T and endure the roaming charges.

    I appreciate any feedback

    Go to...

    Options --> Advanced Options --> SIM Card

    From there type "MEPD" (all upper case) and some other options will be displayed.

    If "Network" is set to anything other than "disabled" the phone is not unlocked.
