That sucks. Already bought the 64G Micro "assuming" as it is newer tech that it would be able to take it. Guess I'll have to grab a 32G now.....

Nope, Kevin got a 64GB working in it.
Excellent. Job Done.
64GB will work, definitely.
If 64gb works on it why do many of the reviews popping up on the review sites say it is limited to 32gb. Sounds like Blackberry need to improve their communications of the specs.
I've always put a larger capacity SD in my BBs then what they were rated for and have always worked, which is weird
lol... welcome to last year. BB and the media are like brothers that hate each other
probably depends on the sd card brand as to if it works or not (total guess) maybe they didnt want to announce it incase people who couldnt get it to work called it a fail
I thought there was a thread on this and it stated it depended on whether the card was formatted in the Z10 or not.
Could be wrong. but the thread stated a 64 GB card would work if formatted in the phone.
BlackBerry Canada website says up to 64gb
Thank GOD. i got a sandisk 64gb of ebay a few months ago for $35 in preparation. soon can use it!!!!!!
ditch this old 8gb!!!!!!!
Could someone tell me what formatting an SD card means?
Thanks
Not too crazy. My current device is rated for 32, but takes a 64.
literally just changing a setting. quick time!
You should be able to format a card by wiping it in the device it is going to be used in. Some OSes have a toggle just for that.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
I read earlier today that a 64gig card will work but only after a company, (the name which I can't recall I think it was SDK) gets the license straight with Blackberry at which time Blackberry will release an update allowing the card to work. Think I read it on BerryReview.
Here is an excerpt from the article.
One of the first things I did when I got my BlackBerry Z10 was plug in a 64GB MicroSDXC card to see if it would work. Sadly it did not work immediately with the exFAT format that it is formatted with by default but RIM is adding exFAT support after launch. The trick to get it to work is to simply format the SD card using the options and you will get FAT32 partition that works like a charm and sees the whole 64GB.
All of you buying SD cards on ebay,
Read up on SOSFakeFlash. A lot of those are 1GB cards programmed to say 64GB and corrupt when you go above 1GB of data.
Lol

"users will be able to add 64GB+ cards at launch and up to 2 terabyte cards in the future"

100% agree. Get a sandisk for reliability
I know they're not out yet, but does anyone think/know if a 128gb will work? Pretty sure those are rolling out this year sometime
2 TB... the new BlackBerry plays fir keeps!
Assuming the file system is all that's holding it back, it would. FAT32 supports up to a few TB (4 I believe) and exFAT supports hundreds of TB.
And if they have licensing issues about exFAT, it would be with Microsoft. exFAT is Microsoft's baby.
BlackBerry did sign a deal with Microsoft for the exFAT file system:
Microsoft, RIM ink new licensing agreement ? The Register
On the official Z10 spec sheet, it says 64 GB:
BlackBerry Z10 Specs - Specifications for BlackBerry 10 Smartphone - US
BlackBerry say 64:
